Lothian Area Team Timeline

August

  • Attend the Team meeting on the 12th August.  
  • Check the Lothian website for reference material.
  • Start the organisation of the Training Day which will be held on Saturday TBC  and hopefully will be held at RBS Gogarburn.
  • Issue all documentation to Students, Business Advisers and Link Teachers for Training Day. 
  • Review new companies registering for the 2020-2021 Company Programme.
  • Use Social Media (Twitter & Facebook) and the Lothian website for issue of information relating to this year’s Company Programme.  

September

  • Attend the Team meeting on the 9th September. 
  • Attend the Lothian launch event at RBS Gogarburn on Saturday TBC. in September 
  • Check with your allocated schools (Link Teachers and Business Advisers) that the registration fee (£100) has been paid by the Companies. Update records will be provided on a regular basis so that you are able to action the information.  
  • Review new companies registering for the 2020-2021 Company Programme.
  • Organise judges for the Christmas Market.
  • Issue the Christmas Market checklist so that tasks can be allocated to team members for action.
  • Use Social Media (Twitter & Facebook) and the Lothian website for issue of information relating to this year’s Company Programme.

October

  • Attend the Team meeting on the 14th October (if required).
  • The Christmas Market – the first (and main) opportunity for the Students to showcase their products is coming up fast.
  • Christmas Market poster competition – closing date for entries – 30th October.
  • Start to advertise the Christmas Market (Saturday 5th December – to be confirmed).
  • Confirm judges for the Christmas Market.
  • Review the entries for the Christmas Market poster competition and inform the winning company that their poster has been chosen.
  • Use Social Media (Twitter & Facebook) and the Lothian website for issue of information relating to this year’s Company Programme.
  • Chase any company that has not completed the Product Approval form. This is Mandatory. 
  • Chase any company that has not registered via the YEUK online website. 
  • Chase any company that has not yet paid the £100 registration fee. 

November

  • Advertise the Christmas Market using the winning Christmas Market poster.
  • Attend the Team meeting on the 11th November.
  • Check the registration of the Young Enterprise companies for the Lothian Area Christmas Market. 
  • Check the Lothian website for all the relevant documentation for the Christmas Market.
  • Use Social Media (Twitter & Facebook) and the Lothian website for issue of information relating to this year’s Company Programme.
  • Assist Peter with their availability on Saturday 5th December (to be confirmed) and be allocated tasks for on the day. 
  • Advertise the Christmas Market at all available locations using the Christmas Market poster. 

December

  • The Lothian Area Christmas Market has arrived!
  • To be confirmed – Saturday 5th December 9.00 – 3.00pm – Eric Liddell Centre, 15 Morningside Road, Edinburgh. 
  • Attend the Team meeting on the 9th December (if required).
  • Review the feedback from Christmas Market.
  • Plan the training event in January.
  • Send out details of dates for Awards Evening entry forms, 1 minute video, Interview dates etc. 
  • Use Social Media (Twitter & Facebook) and the Lothian website for issue of information relating to this year’s Company Programme.

January

  • It’s time to prepare for the final stages of the competition.
  • Attend the Lothian Young Enterprise training TBC in January – Company Report, Interview and Presentation. Help with the organisation of the event.
  • Attend the Team meeting on the 13th January (if required).
  • Check for the receipt of Awards Evening entry forms.
  • Check for receipt of the 1 minute videos for Young Enterprise teams. Chase the Young Enterprise teams if video not received by closing date and time.
  • Use Social Media (Twitter & Facebook) and the Lothian website for issue of information relating to this year’s Company Programme.

February

  • Chase the Young Enterprise teams if video not received by closing date and time.
  • Check with allocated schools whether the Young Enterprise team are going to take the Strathclyde Business School Exam – NB : not compulsory. Exam dates are now between the ?? February and the ?? February.  Please note that dates are not known at present.  
  • Start the organisation of the Awards Evening – ?? March (TBC) at Edinburgh Napier University, 219 Colinton Road, Edinburgh. 
  • Allocation of team members to assist with the running of the Awards Evening.
  • Use Social Media (Twitter & Facebook) and the Lothian website for issue of information relating to this year’s Company Programme.

March

  • Attend team meeting on the 4th March at Edinburgh Napier University. 
  • Check to make sure that all Company Reports have been received for the  possible ?? teams participating. 
  • Issue the PDF format Company reports to all the judges along with the 1 minute videos for the individual Director prizes.
  • Organise the Interview evenings for all the teams wishing to enter the Awards Evening.
  • The end of year Awards Event will be held on Tuesday ?? March at Edinburgh Napier University, 219 Colinton Road, Edinburgh. 
  • Use Social Media (Twitter & Facebook) and the Lothian website for issue of information relating to this year’s Company Programme.

April – May

  • Attend team meeting on Wednesday 6th April.
  • Check to make sure that each Young Enterprise has wound up their company, sold off the excess stock, completed end of year accounts and paid the Young Enterprise Wind Up fee.
  • Use Social Media (Twitter & Facebook) and the Lothian website for issue of information relating to this year’s Company Programme.

And now that you have done all of that – Congratulations! You have now successfully finished the Young Enterprise Scotland Company Programme. Now we start the programming for next year’s programme.
