The Lothian Awards Evening was held on Thursday 28th March in Edinburgh Napier University. This was a hugely successful event with over 140 people attending. The photographs that were taken during the evening will be uploaded to website just as soon as we can.
The winners of the Best Company were Wicks “n” Wax from Linlithgow Academy – well done to the team. The team now go forward to the Scottish Finals on Wednesday 5th June at the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh.

The end of year accounts form calculates YE Wind Up fee that your company owes to Young Enterprise. The total is shown in the “Total Wind Up fee” box. You will need to fill in your company address at the top and and get this form signed and dated. Unless you are advised of alternative local arrangements for collection of the taxes please send the form with a a cheque to cover the total to Young Enterprise Scotland and made payable to Young Enterprise Scotland.
YE Wind up Fee is a tax on the company’s profits and is calculated at the rate of 20% on the net profit of the company, as indicated in the final Profit & Loss Account Your YE Wind Up fee payments are very important to Young Enterprise Scotland as part of these funds will provide students next year with the experience you have enjoyed. As Young Enterprise Scotland is a charity these payments are an essential part of its charitable income.

The timeframes for the 2019 exam period are as follows. We appreciate your co-operation by returning the exam papers as soon as the examination has taken place. This allows us the best possible chance to meet the tight deadlines in place.
Exam period Monday 18 February to 1 March 2019.
Answer books to be returned by Friday 8th March.
Marking period Monday 13th March to Wednesday 10th April.
Markers to return scripts by Monday 15th April. Results to be finalised & released.
Week beginning 6th May 2019.
Results and Certificates Students may be awarded a ‘Pass’, ‘Merit’ or ‘distinction’ for the examination. Exam papers that do not meet the minimum standard will be classed as ‘ungraded’, all of which will be reviewed by the Senior Examiner.
The Lothian team are all vounteers and help to run the Young Enterprise Company Programme with monetary donations from all locations. Lothian Young Enterprise is a charity.
We changed the format and have received various excellent comments about the training, which was held for the second time on a Saturday and at the RBS Gogarburn, this is very expensive and depletes our funds, hence we are asking if any of this year’s teams would make a charitable donation to the Lothian Young Enterprise programme.
No matter how small the amount all monies received will go towards next year’s (2018-2019) Company Programme.
