YES University of Strathclyde Exam 2012

The exam period for this year is Monday 20^th February – Friday 2^nd March 2012. The cost of the exam is £7 per candidate.

The examination administered by the University of Strathclyde is an opportunity for students to rationalize the issues they have experienced within their own Company. The award provides employers, and further and higher education, with evidence of what students have learned from this practical business experience.

The examination will be taken during the period Monday 20th February to Friday 2nd March 2012. You will be sent two weeks before the examination, a package of materials.

We would be grateful if all Link Teachers could check the details sent to them by email and if there are any changes especially in the name and number of students taking the exam, please notify a YES Board Member ASAP. Link Teachers also need to notify us of any candidates with special needs before the 6th February.

Training Night

Following the successful 2011 Christmas Market ( a key milestone in the Young Enterprise Company Programme year) and as the end of term is approaching fast it is time to remind you that the final training evening will take place on Monday 16th January 2012 to ensure that you and the young people have this in your diaries.

This will be held on Monday 16th January 2012, Apex House, 99 Haymarket Terrace, Edinburgh,EH12 5HD.

We would like to maximise the amount of time we have at these sessions without having students and teachers having to stay out much later than they have in the past so we will now ask you to turn up at 5.30pm for a prompt 5.45pm start. The sessions will run on until 7.45pm.

As before we would love to see Link Teachers and Business Advisors along too.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch. And we are always keen to hear your suggestions on what we could add or change.

Whats involved – Workshop 3 – 16 January 2012

Purpose – to prepare for the final interviews and the Awards Night

In this workshop we will cover

· How to write an impressive final report

· Making a great Awards Night Presentation

· Impressive interview techniques

The final stages of the Company programme give company members the chance to impress the judges by telling the story of what they did, what they learned and reporting on what they sold and presenting their final accounts.
